Annoying Motivational clip forward from Dad that actually worked!
I joined a new job having left the old one just 4 months after joining out of college. Three months into the new job, I have been wanting to leave the job over again. I discussed it with my dad he advised not to resign. However, I felt my problem is real. I am diagnosed with anxiety and depression. I persuaded him and took the call. Resigned again!
I have three months of notice period to serve in the job. My Dad watches a lot of self help related content and shares them on family WhatsApp group. I used to be annoyed whenever I receive yet another motivational speech short or youtube video. Most often than not, I simply ignore the videos. However once he shared a reel from Anthony Robbins. It’s about discipline. It was a short so I went ahead and watched it.
It was super simple. Tony says to be good at any job, we need to be good at patterns.
We need to be able to recognise patterns, use patterns and create patterns.
It is so simple not to try. So I gave it a try. Having spent three months already in the system and having resigned, I took a step back and started to recognise patterns. The job which I was thinking to be super stressful and restless, isn’t stressful at all. No one pings after 5:30 or the cadence is minimal. There are couple of days in a month…
